Manchester city completed the japan leg of our pre season tour with a 2-1 victory.

 In a goal made by our Academy, James McAtee opened the scoring midway through the first half after excellent work from Rico Lewis in the build up.



After Mathys Tel had equalised for the Bundesliga champions in the 81st minute, City responded through Aymeric Laporte to seal a second victory in as many games in Japan.

It was again a sold-out crowd at the Japan National Stadium for this meeting of two European heavyweights, just three days after attracting a capacity crowd to the same venue for our 5-3 win over Yokohama F. Marinos.

In fact, the 65,049 packed into the arena set a new record attendance for football at the National Stadium, opened in 2019.

We'll now move on to the South Korean capital of Seoul to face Atletico Madrid at 12:00 (UK) on Sunday.

WHAT HAPPENED

Both sides named strong lineups, with Bayern only making two changes from the side that lost at the Etihad Stadium in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final last season. There were five changes to City's side from that April tie.

Donning the freshly released electric-feel PUMA third kit for the 2023/24 season, City had all the possession in the opening stages.

Steelers agree to a deal with former Jets Pro Bowl LB Kwon Alexander, per report.

The Steelers are adding a former Pro Bowl player to their roster. Pittsburgh has agreed to a one-year deal with veteran linebacker Kwon Alexander. Alexander had met with the Steelers back in May. Alexander, 28, was a fourth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent his first four seasons in Tampa Bay and was a Pro Bowler in 2017 after recording a league-high 108 solo tackles. In 2019, Alexander helped the 49ers reach the Super Bowl during his only full season in San Francisco.  He was traded to the Saints midway through the 2021 season before spending the entire 2022 season with the Jets. In New York, Alexander registered 69 tackles in 12 starts while playing in each of New York's 17 games. While he's proven to be a solid player, injuries have prevented Alexander from further success. He played in just 14 total games during the 2018-19 season while dealing with knee and chest injuries. A torn Achilles prematurely ended his 2021 season after 12 games.  The Steelers...

Bank Holiday Monday opening times for Aldi, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsburys

  Monday 28 August is the August   Bank Holiday , which means millions of Britons will be enjoying a long weekend. It also marks the last bank holiday for the rest of the year, until Christmas in December. On account of the public holiday, a number of  supermarkets  and shops might have opening hours that differ from their normal operating times.
