Spy kids: Armageddon

WHO indicated that aspartame will be declared a possible carcinogen to the humans.

What is aspartame?

After several decades of research on artificial sweeteners (ASW) to reduce obesity and diabetes rates, aspartame was discovered in 1965 and eventually brought to market in 1981. Aspartame is between 150-200 times sweeter than sugar and, as a result, does not increase the caloric value of food and drink products.

According to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the acceptable daily intake (ADI) for aspartame is 50 mg/kg, whereas European regulatory bodies recommend an ADI of 40 mg/kg for aspartame for both adults and children. Throughout the world, aspartame can be found in over 6,000 products, including food and beverages, cough drops, and some toothpaste, thus indicating the ubiquitous nature of this chemical in many everyday items.

Although most food and drink products with aspartame are advertised as ‘healthy’ or ‘diet’ alternatives to sugar-sweetened products, the ability of these products to reduce the risk of diabetes or obesity has never been confirmed. Instead, some evidence suggests that the flavor of both sugar- and artificially sweetened-beverages increases hunger sensations and, as a result, causes weight gain.

Doea aspartame cause cancer?

After consuming aspartame, this chemical is hydrolyzed and absorbed in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. This process leads to the release of methanol, aspartic acid, and phenylalanine.

The metabolism of methanol begins in the liver, where it is first oxidized to formaldehyde then again to fovic acid. In addition to the direct damage methanol causes to the liver, formaldehyde is also directly toxic to liver cells and associated with cancer-causing properties.

Several studies have investigated the carcinogenic potential of aspartame. For example, one study in rats found that aspartame exposure early in life increased the risk that rat pups subsequently developed cancer.

Steelers agree to a deal with former Jets Pro Bowl LB Kwon Alexander, per report.

The Steelers are adding a former Pro Bowl player to their roster. Pittsburgh has agreed to a one-year deal with veteran linebacker Kwon Alexander. Alexander had met with the Steelers back in May. Alexander, 28, was a fourth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent his first four seasons in Tampa Bay and was a Pro Bowler in 2017 after recording a league-high 108 solo tackles. In 2019, Alexander helped the 49ers reach the Super Bowl during his only full season in San Francisco.  He was traded to the Saints midway through the 2021 season before spending the entire 2022 season with the Jets. In New York, Alexander registered 69 tackles in 12 starts while playing in each of New York's 17 games. While he's proven to be a solid player, injuries have prevented Alexander from further success. He played in just 14 total games during the 2018-19 season while dealing with knee and chest injuries. A torn Achilles prematurely ended his 2021 season after 12 games.  The Steelers...

But families deserve better than the cheap-looking and cloying reboot of the franchise, “Spy Kids: Armageddon,” now streaming on Netflix and playing theatrically in limited release. It’s more of the same, without any discernible improvement in quality, despite the massive technological leaps over the past two decades. Rodr...

MICHAEL FARADAY INVENTIONS

THE MAN THAT INVENTED ELECTRICITY               [ MICHAEL FARADAY]    Michael Faraday was the first man to generate an 'ELECTRIC CURRENT' from a magnetic field, he Invented the first "ELECTRIC MOTOR AND DYNAMO" demonstrated the relation between electricity and chemical bonding.   He discovered the effects magnetism on light and discovered and named diamagnetism, the peculiar behavior if substances.  HOW DID MICHAEL FARADAY INVENTED ELECTRICITY.      In 1821 he succeeded in producing mechanical motion by Means of a permanent magnet and an electric current.   Ten years later he converted magnetic force into electrical force, thus inventing the world's first electrical generator. Michael Faraday FRS was an English scientist who contributed to the study of electromagnetism and elechemistry. Biography He was born on 22 September 1791 and died on 25 August 1867.
